映画の原作はフィリップ・K・ディック。

有名な映画「ブレードランナー」の原作を書いた人です。

その映画のエピソード4「クレイジーダイアモンド」の劇中歌としてOctopusが挿入されていました。

ピンク・フロイドで有名な曲の一つが「shine on you crazy diamond」。

「shine on you crazy diamond」はシド脱退後に作られた曲で、頭文字で「syd」になります。

ここから、短期間で脱退したシドを「crazy diamond」になぞらえた曲と言われています。

そして映画エピソードの題名も「クレイジーダイアモンド」。
